Jérôme Oberreit joined GARDP in April 2019.
Jérôme has extensive experience in strategy setting in the non-profit sector. Prior to joining GARDP, from 2012 to 2019 he held the position of Secretary General for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) International. Jérôme first started with MSF in field programmes in 1994 where he worked in Kenya, Sierra Leone, Palestine and Somalia. Between 2001 and 2012 he worked at the HQ of MSF in Brussels taking the position of Director of Programmes in 2006. Jerome made a significant contribution to the expansion of MSF sections beyond Europe, North America and Asia through supporting the creation of MSF South Africa, Brazil, East Africa and the launching of initiatives in the middle east (Beirut) and West Africa. He has extensive experience in disease specific programming, in particular HIV and TB, and conflict settings.
He is fluent in French and English, holds a Master in Geography from California State University and a Bachelors Degree in Politics and Geography from the University of London.
