The Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership Foundation Board is seeking a new Audit Committee Member with life science background to provide the Audit Committee Chair with advice and guidance to ensure finance and compliance oversight of the Foundation, in its organization and projects.
GARDP Foundation (“GARDP”) is an independent, not-for-profit foundation registered under the Swiss Civil Code, administered by a Board of Directors (the “Board”). The Audit Committee is the key element of the governance of GARDP, in order to ensure the relevant checks and balances are in place. Its role is to assist the Board in its responsibility for overseeing the quality and integrity of the accounting, auditing and reporting practices of GARDP and its compliance with the legal requirements. In Furtherance of its role, the Audit Committee oversees the accounting and financial reporting process of GARDP, the audits of GARDP’s financial statements, the appointment, independence, performance and remuneration of the external auditor appointed by GARDP. The Committee participates in the review and finalization of the finance policies that requires Board approval.
The Audit Committee Member reviews, on a regular basis, the finance and operations of GARDP, reports to the Board on the financial status of GARDP, ensures that the annual audit is conducted as required under the GARDP’s Statutes and bylaws, and provides financial and legal advice to the Chair of the Audit Committee and to the Board. The Audit Committee Member is expected to provide solid life science financial support in respect of GARDP’s operations (strategic partnership, collaboration agreement and Phase 3 clinical trials at GARDP), in collaboration with GARDP Finance Department.
Requirements for the ideal candidate are:
- Have strong life science and financial background (at least 10 years international finance experience in private pharma industry, including clinical trials exposure)
- Have prior Audit Committee / Board experience
- Geneva-based or can be physically present as needed
The tenure of the Audit Committee Member will be a term of three years, renewable, and serve in an honorary capacity. GARDP will reimburse reasonable expenses related to role of Audit Committee Member, including travel expenses. The Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP) is a not-for-profit organization developing new treatments for drug-resistant infections that pose the greatest threat to health. GARDP was created by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) in 2016 to ensure that everyone who needs antibiotics receives effective and affordable treatment, no matter where they live. We aim to develop five new treatments by 2025 to fight drug-resistant infections, focusing on sexually transmitted infections, sepsis in newborns and infections in hospitalized adults and children.
