Time for concrete action – Addressing the global AMR crisis

21 May 2019

Geneva, Switzerland

AMR is a global threat. Infections that are treatable today are becoming life threatening again. Routine surgery becomes too risky to carry out. Illnesses considered minor in 2019 could cost 10 million lives every year by 2050. Addressing AMR will be key to achieving Universal Health Coverage and meeting the Sustainable Development Goals.

With AMR high on the political agenda, and at a time when Governments must develop and implement national, regional and global action plans, the global community now has a unique opportunity to accelerate its collective effort.

As GARDP redoubles its efforts to develop and deliver new treatments, you are invited to a lively discussion with public health leaders on what it will take to move plans into concrete actions that deliver practical and effective solutions globally.

The event will feature thought-provoking talks from international experts followed by a panel discussion and reception.
