Carmen Au joined GARDP as a Project Manager in the STI Programme in August 2019.
Prior to joining GARDP, Carmen was a Consultant for the World Health Organization in the Department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals managing the forum on the Post2020 Global Immunization Strategy for the next decade. She was also responsible for multiple projects supporting the Secretariat in the Expanded Programme on Immunization on cold chain technology, capacity building, vaccine wastage and TechNet-21.
Prior to the international organizations, Carmen comes from 13 years in the pharmaceutical industry with experience in R&D as an Organic Chemist in biotech and generics, Quality Control Analyst in manufacturing at GlaxoSmithKline, and then pursued a career in Project management and Vendor management in Phase I-IV Clinical Trials in various CROs most recently at Covance in Geneva. Carmen also has 3 years experience as an IT Project Leader at Shoppers Drug Mart focusing on software development and corporate infrastructure for pharmacies across Canada.
Carmen holds a Bachelor in Biochemistry with Biotechnology specialization and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP-PMI).
