Erika Correia joined GARDP in August 2017 as Clinical Research Associate, relocating from the DNDi Brazil Regional Office. She started her career with DNDi in 2012 as Clinical Research Associate working on the Chagas’s Disease Project on several Phase II PoC studies in Bolívia.
Erika got her BSc in Biology at Rio de Janeiro State University, after which she worked for two of the major clinical laboratories in Brazil, focusing on Molecular Diagnostic of infectious diseases.
Later on, Erika acquired an MBA from the prestigious Getúlio Vargas Foundation and moved into the pharmaceutical industry, where she became involved in clinical trials with Bristol Myers Squibb, where she held the positions of CTA and then CRA.
Through her work in Brazil and Bolivia, Erika acquired important experience working in settings with limited resources, as well as in capacity building.
