GARDP’s commitment to enabling access to the GARDP portfolio products requires the efficient, reliable, and affordable delivery of products to GARDP territory countries where there is a public health need for such products.
Developing a strategic supply model is a key part of this process. Many antibiotic products, especially novel reserve antibiotics face small and fragmented markets, demand uncertainty and the risk of unexpected demand increases due to outbreaks or other factors. Efficient supply planning, pooled procurement and distribution systems and market shaping interventions could significantly improve antibiotic access by decreasing costs and increasing efficiency and predictability for both buyers and suppliers.
