Your privacy when using this website (www.gardp.org) (“Website”) is of utmost importance to GARDP Foundation (“GARDP”). 

 

GARDP may obtain personal data from you either directly, from your interactions with this Website, or from your participation in social media accounts maintained by GARDP. You may also visit other websites part of GARDP network (GARDP REVIVE or Powerofantibiotics Websites), which have their own specific privacy notices, supplementing this one. 

 

Personal Data” is any information about you that identifies you directly or indirectly, either alone or in combination with other information made available to GARDP. GARDP is solely responsible for the collection and the processing of your Personal Data through our websites. GARDP decides why it is collected and how it is used and thereby acts as the “Data Controller” of your Personal Data. 

 

GARDP is committed to protecting your privacy by ensuring the security and protection of your Personal Data. GARDP has put in place appropriate technical and organizational measures in order to prevent unauthorized access to your Personal Data and to ensure a sufficiently high level of security in relation to the inherent risk involved in data processing, to meet regulatory requirements and to protect your rights and data from the moment your data is collected.  

 

Please note that this notice does not apply to third party links on GARDP’s Websites and third-party websites where you may have come from where a link to GARDP’s website is available. 

 

In particular, when you sign up to receive a GARDP newsletter, apply for a job at GARDP, make a donation to GARDP, view a GARDP video, or participate in social media on which GARDP provides content, you will be directed to a third-party service provider website, and the use of such external websites is subject to the terms and conditions of those external websites. 

 

This notice may change from time to time and updates will be posted here (last update: December 2023). 

 

What personal data does GARDP collect? 

 

Information that you provide to GARDP voluntarily:

When you subscribe to our Newsletter: the minimum mandatory information collected is your email address; additional information may be provided if you wish to do so. 

 

When you apply to a job: your name, phone number, email and postal addresses, your resumé and a cover letter will have to be uploaded. After sending this information through our third-party service provider. Workable privacy notice is available here. Applicants will receive additional information about the processing of their Personal Data, such as the data sharing restrictions, how long the data will be stored, when it will be destroyed, which data may be kept in an anonymous manner after destruction for key performance indicators (KPIs) (for example: gender, region, how the User learned about GARDP, and education level). 

 

When you make a donation to GARDP: your name, email address, the amount donated, and the date of the donation will be stored by GARDP. The details of the bank card used for the payment will not be collected by GARDP, but it will be collected by the secure on-line payment third-party service provider. 

 

When you make an enquiry: This may include your name, telephone, address, email address, photos of you, date of birth and other Personal Data GARDP would not ask you to provide but volunteered or made public by you. 

 

The legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data for the purpose of sending you Newsletters, responding to your queries or recording your donation is your consent. For the purpose of managing your job application, the legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data is the intention to enter into a contract with GARDP. 

 

Information that is collected automatically: 

Information GARDP collect about you that may contain Personal Data also includes technical data including online identifiers, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; and information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our sites (including date and time). 

 

The legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data collected automatically is either your consent, or our legitimate interests, as a not-for-profit organization that needs to interact with the Users interested by our action against drug-resistant infections. 

 

You are not obliged to provide any Personal Data or refuse to accept automated collection such as cookies (please see our Cookies policy), however you may not be able to use certain features / services of this website when Personal Data is necessary, for example your email address is necessary to receive our newsletter. 

 

What GARDP does with your personal information 

GARDP uses information held about you, whether spontaneously received from you, or received from the third parties mentioned above, only for the purposes listed below: 

  • Provide you with information and services that you request from GARDP; 
  • Contact you via email to follow-up on your job application, or send you an acknowledgement of receipt of a donation you have made; 
  • Provide access to such services and interactive features on our sites that you have subscribed to and to notify you of any changes; 
  • Administer this Website and for internal analytical and technical purposes, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical, and survey purposes; 
  • Improve this Website and to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer; and 
  • Use efforts to keep this Website safe and secure.

 

How GARDP shares your personal data

Your Personal Data can be accessed by, or transferred to, our personnel or consultants. 

 

GARDP shares also your Personal Data with the following parties under appropriate legal bases or / and transfer mechanisms: 

  • Any GARDP regional offices on a worldwide basis to the extent that they need to have access to your Personal Data for the purposes set out in the above section; 
  • Suppliers and service providers to the extent necessary for GARDP’s legitimate business purposes and provided that GARDP has put in place adequate contracts to protect your data; 
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist GARDP in the improvement and optimization of this Website; and, 
  • Providers of customer relationship management, e-mail distribution, and fundraising services. 

 

GARDP will only otherwise disclose your Personal Data to any other third parties if GARDP is under a duty to disclose or share your personal data to comply with any legal obligation, or to enforce or apply our Terms of Use or to protect the property, rights or safety of GARDP, our licensors or others. 

 

How and where GARDP stores your personal data 

The data that GARDP collects from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of Switzerland and the European Economic Area (”EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside of Switzerland and the EEA who work for GARDP or for one of our suppliers. This includes staff engaged in, among other things, the processing of any payment details and the provision of support services. Such countries may offer a different level of protection of Personal Data, which is not equivalent to the level of protection of Personal Data than the protection provided in Switzerland or in European Union or European Economic Area. GARDP ensures equivalent guarantees regarding Personal Data protection standards are implemented, such as appropriate legal arrangements before transferring your data, in accordance with the law. 

 

All information you provide to GARDP is stored on our secure servers or secure servers managed on GARDP’s behalf. 

 

GARDP will only store the data that GARDP holds about you for as long as necessary for the purpose you provided it for. Beyond that, GARDP may retain data to comply with our legal and contractual obligations for a duration in accordance with the applicable laws or regulations. 

 

GARDP usually retains data for no more than five years unless GARDP needs to retain it for longer to comply with our legal and contractual obligations. 

GARDP will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with applicable laws. 

 

Your rights 

You have the right to ask for the access to, amendment, restriction or deletion of your Personal Data at any time. You also have the right to remove your consent to the processing of your Personal Data performed on the basis of your consent, and to object to the processing of your Personal Data performed on the basis of GARDP legitimate interests. Your Personal Data will be provided in a commonly used readable format. You can exercise and enforce your rights at any time by contacting GARDP at mydataprivacy@gardp.org. If you feel that GARDP has not appropriately handled the matter, you also have the right to refer the matter to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) of Switzerland. 

 

How GARDP deals with information from children under sixteen 

This Website is not directed at children. GARDP does not knowingly collect any Personal Data about children on this Website or for the purposes mentioned in this Privacy Notice. If Personal Data about children has been mistakenly provided to GARDP and you would like to request that such Personal Data is removed, please refer to our Contact section below.
