世界で毎年100万人以上の命を奪っている薬剤耐性（AMR）菌感染症。その死者はHIVやマラリアといったほかの感染症を上回り、公衆衛生にとって大きな脅威となっているにもかかわらず、収益性が低く新薬開発を行う企業は少なく、途上国を中心に治療薬が行き渡っていません。

こうした課題の改善に独自のパートナーシップモデルで取り組むのが、スイス・ジュネーブに本部を置く非営利団体Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership（GARDP、グローバル抗菌薬研究開発パートナーシップ）です。来日したR&Dディレクターのシェイマス・オブライアン氏と、ビジネスディベロップメント&パートナーシップ・エンゲージメント ディレクターのヤン・フェリス氏に、活動について聞きました。
