As global economic growth brings about a large increase in human and logistical mobility, taking effective measures against the threat of communicable diseases has become one of the most important challenges not only for individual countries but for the wider international community also.
Under such circumstances, Nikkei Inc. has been organizing the annual Nikkei Asian Conference on Communicable Diseases since 2014, gathering internationally renowned experts in the field, both within and outside Japan, representatives of the private sector, and high-ranking government officials responsible for health.
