東京科学大学は、スイスに本部を置く非営利団体のグローバル抗菌薬研究開発パートナーシップ（GARDP）と薬剤耐性菌に対する新たな抗菌薬の共同研究を始めた。東京科学大のたんぱく質の結晶化に関する知識や経験とGARDPが持つ化合物を組み合わせ、新規抗菌薬の開発につなげる。
