臨床試験は、まず緊急性が高いアフリカから実施する。南アフリカやケニアで今春から開始し、適切な投与量などを確認する。有効性や安全性を確かめた後、２０２４年以降に対象国をアジアに拡大し、標準治療薬などと比べて死亡率が低下したかを約３年かけて調べる。
