Scientists are turning to the world’s most extreme environments to find new ways of combating drug resistance.
Getting bacteria to produce greater volumes of antibiotic substances “will be of much interest to researchers in this field” and have a positive impact on human health, says Laura Piddock, Scientific Director, GARDP. “This should enable them to discover new antibiotics that could form the basis of new drugs to treat infections.”
